Injury Level: Stroke
Injury Date: 11/1/2007

November of 2007, I was on a riding lawn mower and a tree branch hit my neck.  I didn’t know it at the time buy I had hit my vestibular artery on the lower region of my neck.  The accident caused a clot and resulted in a brain stem stroke.  I lost all function in the left side of my body and could not speak.  After three months in the hospital I was discharged and began my road to recovery.

The road to recovery has been long and, at times, I have given up on myself.  A friend told me about Race To Walk and my outlook has positively changed.  After starting workouts with the trainers, I have set new goals for myself and look forward to each session.
